I was awoken this morning by Jane Austen’s tug on my hair. My alarm was set for 7:00 am. Jane has an earlier set point.

Feed cats. Talk to cats. Good morning pets.

Put swim gear into dry bag.

Get into gear for swim.
7:30-7:40
Double socks into sandals. Change robe, big scarf, toque. Strange looks from cats. Pablo hides under bed blankets.

Down to underground parking. Warm car in anticipation of warm up and after swim.

Drive to Breakwater.
7:55
Arrive at Breakwater. Disrobe. Boots on. Gloves on. Timer on. Toque on. Check.
8:00
Enter Salish Sea. Darn it’s cold! Big sigh as the cold releases endorphins and my shoulders relax into the cold relief.

Toque off. Gloves off. Watch off. Dress on. Bathing suit off. Sweater on. Big Coat on. Glasses on. Booties off. Sock one, on. Sock two, on. Repeat. Sandals on. Pack dry bag.

Walk to car. Dry Bag in trunk.

Start car. Heat on. drive home

Arrive underground parking.
8:45 Home. Coat off and hung up.

Gloves, boots, on floor. Heat and fan on. Wash tub filled and suit washed and hung. Towel hung. Dry bag hung.
9:00 Redress. Make Chai. Breakfast. Fireplace and high back armchair share with Pablo.
