Finding the joy in every day. 5/6/24

At the top of the Ross Bay hill a poppy greeted us on our way to the cove. So delicate and yet able to grow here on the hill in very little soil.
High tide in the cove, in spite of the 30 kilometre wind gusts, small waves. We had watched a wind surfer retrieve his sail from the rocks as we entered the cove. Definitely, a day to pay attention to currents, wind and water.
As we started to prepare putting booties and gloves on, the rains came. Quite heavy at first. My partner brought her backpack canvas, so we covered our belongings and headed in to the water. Sublime cold and raindrops, remarkably wonderful, as we laid on our backs letting the waves play rock and roll with our bodies. When you are wet, the rain feels more like a soft body massage or a christening. I tried to navigate my partner around rocks and to stay in the centre of the cove but the waves and currents kept pushing us towards the rocks. It turned out to be a short dip. We scurried back to our clothes and dressed quickly; donning our big coats, and sitting with our tea we laughed at the craziness of it all.
I feel that doing something kinda crazy in this world of climate crisis, warring craziness, homelessness, drug overdoses, hunger and famine, our humanity needs laughter, lightness, and friendship. What craziness will you do today to keep the negativity at bay? Please leave a comment and subscribe.

Amazing that they can grow with such little soil and so much windy weather.
