Everyday a stone in my pocket.

Finding the joy everyday.

4/5/24

Victoria has the most gorgeous tree lined streets.

The city planners could see how these trees would enhance living in Victoria. Cook Street is lined with chestnut trees; Foul bay is lined with Dogwood; Moss and View streets are lined with Japanese cherry. The urban forest has been particularly important to Victoria.

In the summer walking down Cook or Vancouver is a real treat as you are protected by the trees from the heat and sun. I love the old oak tree groves that perch on rock-out-crops like on Fairfield at Moss. The grandfather oak trees are my favourites. A friend’s property celebrates these grandparents with care, admiration and respect. She is their guardian. I love that.

Today is a hug a tree day. Check out the data base in Victoria for tree lined streets. It’s amazing! /opendata.victoria.ca/
