Everyday a stone in my pocket.

Finding the joy in everyday.

Salish Siren. Collage by Katherine McLean

Tuesday. Pure Joy. The joy of six women dipping in the Salish Ocean.

A rainbow of swim floats and a circle of conversation for 15 minutes

of reset. Sun and a light wind and 17 degrees Celsius. I swear the

water temperature rose by 1 degree from Monday.

At home, the Japanese Maple has been busy knitting a fine garment

of leaves. You can see the leaves like a shadow of a beard…fuzzy and

soft. The softness pushes the dark skeleton back with its promise of

green. Ahhhh! And the smell of new green and my partner pops

another antihistamine. Sometimes, joy is mixed bag.
