Do you remember the ‘Jetsons’, ‘Get Smart’, and the ‘Avengers’? I was intrigued with their gadgets; flying cars, shoe telephones, multi-functioning watches.
This year I turned 70 and bought an electric bike for my birthday. My partner bought an Iwatch for me.
She felt I needed extra protection in case of an accident. Welcome to the future. If I fall off my bike the phone will call emergency and send an ambulance. Does this evoke joy? In a strange way, ‘yes’. There is an added sense of security and well being knowing someone has my back, literally. Move over Emma Peel, Maxwell Smart and Wilma.
